This policy explains what personal information PBMV collects, why we collect it, and how we look after it. We follow British Columbia’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).
Who we are
PBMV (The Photobooth Company of Metro Vancouver) is a photo booth rental business based in Metro Vancouver, British Columbia. For any question about this policy or your information, email info@pbmv.ca or call (778) 814-6671.
What we collect from clients
- Inquiry details: your name, email, phone number and event details (date, event type, venue, start time, guest count and anything else you tell us).
- Contract and payment details: the information in your signed contract, such as your billing name and company, and records of your payments. Card payments are handled by our payment provider.
What we collect from event guests
- Photos taken in the booth.
- Phone numbers or email addresses that guests enter to receive their photos.
- At corporate events with lead capture, the contact details a guest chooses to share. Lead capture data is collected only when a guest opts in.
Website data
- Analytics cookies: we may use Google Analytics, which sets cookies to show us how visitors use our site, such as pages visited and device type. You can block these cookies in your browser settings.
- Ad tracking parameters: if you reach our site from an ad or campaign link, we record the campaign details in the web address (such as UTM tags and ad click IDs) and the page you arrived on, and include them with your inquiry.
We use this data to improve our website and our ads.
How we use your information
- To reply to your inquiry and prepare your quote.
- To deliver our services, including sending guests their photos.
- To send contracts, invoices and receipts.
- To improve our website and advertising.
We never sell personal information.
Who we share it with
- Netlify, which hosts our website, processes and stores inquiry form submissions and emails them to us.
- Service providers that help us run the business: form handling, email, payment processing, photo delivery and analytics. They may use your information only to provide their service to us. Some of them may store data outside Canada, for example in the United States, where it is subject to local law.
- The client who booked the event, who receives the event photos and any lead capture data that guests opted in to share.
We may also disclose information when the law requires it.
Photos for marketing
We may share event photos on our website and Instagram. If you booked the event, you can opt out at any time by telling us in writing at info@pbmv.ca. If you’re a guest and want a photo of you removed, email us and we’ll take it down.
How long we keep it
- Inquiry data: up to 2 years.
- Event photos and guest contact details: up to 12 months.
- Lead capture data: deleted from our systems within 30 days of delivery to the client.
- Contracts and payment records: as long as tax and accounting law requires.
How we protect it
We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information, including password-protected accounts and limiting access to the people who need it to serve you.
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. You can also withdraw your consent to our use of it, subject to legal or contractual limits. Email info@pbmv.ca and we’ll respond within 30 days. If you’re not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top shows when it last changed.
